This blog is an attempt to advance the discussion about several issues arising in science and the professional life of scientists. During the last few years, I was always wondering whether it would be worthwhile to write up a few opinions, suggestions and experiences for practical scientific issues. Many daily challenges arising in teaching, organizing conferences, managing funding and many other components of scientific life are difficult to master and to optimize. It seems intuitive that scientists should also aim to exchange ideas a bit more to learn about well-proven solutions. Research itself is about creative thinking, so if this blog helps to save some personal ‘innovation-energy’ for the reader, it has achieved its purpose.
